James Carlo Rivera000I build software across the application and infrastructure stack—from user-facing products and backend systems to deployment and the environments they run on.
Products, not demos.

(01) — Statement

I’m a software engineer building full-stack applications and the systems behind them—from interfaces, APIs and databases to deployment, Linux and Docker. Product thinking shapes what I build; architecture and operational experience shape how it runs. Most of my projects started as a real workflow in a business I could actually walk into.

Research prototype · KONEKTADO AI adaptationA community job-matching platform built first as an academic research system, then reframed as a focused AI-assisted hackathon concept.
FlowPress
Built and deployed at CJNETThe QR upload and print path for the shop, revised after watching how it was actually used.
Homelab
Self-hosted infrastructureLinux, Docker, Nginx and Cloudflare routing. Where deployment became something I operate.
Polytechnic University of the Philippines
BSIT · final yearCoursework in systems, networks and databases, strengthened through projects built beyond the classroom.
CJNET Computer Shop
Family business · operationsSupport, networking, print workflow and internal tools—and the environment that tells me which problems are worth building for.

(05) — How I work
Four steps, one feedback loopObserve
Standing at the counter watching where the queue actually breaks—not asking anyone what they need.
Define
The workflow gets written before the stack does. Most ideas die here, which is the cheapest place to die.
Build & deploy
AI agents help with implementation. I own the requirements, architecture, integration, validation and the environment the system runs on.
Watch & revise
Real use is the test. I watch where people work around the system, then rebuild around what they actually do.
The judgement is the job. The typing is not.
(06) — Principles
Cycles while in viewOn staying usefulI don’t chase frameworks. I learn principles.
